Sam Blakey is an internationally certified personal trainer, core specialist and women’s health coach. She is also a pre & post-natal pilates teacher and one of only eight senior UKHypopressives instructors. She ran award winning fitness company Ooberfit in Singapore for six years and since returning to the U.K four years ago has focused on working with women with abdominal separation, bladder and prolapse issues, and weak pelvic floor muscles.
Since the pandemic started, Sam has moved largely online, enabling her to continue working with clients in Singapore, across the UK and elsewhere.
The bulk of her work is spent teaching Hypopressives - a series of low pressure exercises, postures and breathing techniques designed to safely work your core, help recruit the pelvic floor and aid postural training, all wrapped up into a neatly flowing routine. As one mum recently wrote:”l “For four years, after the birth of my twins, I’ve tried to fix my abdominal separation; finally I read about Hypopressives. I have been having Zoom sessions with Sam and in eight weeks I have halved my 4cm separation and reduced the depth of the split significantly. I’ve done the practice almost daily, but I now believe I can close my separation. Where I once felt a gaping hole, I can now feel muscle tissue and tension. I had resigned myself to learning to live with weak abs forever, but now I am confident I won’t have to!” K, Cambridgeshire, UK.
